Child Safety Window Locks

Child Safety Window Locks

Child safety window locks let you keep a window open for fresh air while limiting how far it can move. Choose a lock that suits your window type, and fix it firmly to the frame so it holds when a child leans or pushes against it. Browse our window restrictors for options that limit the opening, or see all window locks.

Choosing the Right Lock for Your Window Type

Hinged windows suit a casement window lock, sliding windows suit a key-lockable sliding window lock, and double-hung windows suit a window sash lock. Key-lockable options keep the window secure when the key is stored out of reach, while non-keyed restrictors suit windows you want to open easily.

Child Safety Window Locks for Upstairs Bedroom Windows

Upstairs bedroom windows need extra attention. A child safety window lock limits how far the window opens while still allowing ventilation. Australian building rules set window fall-prevention requirements for many bedrooms above ground level, so check the current requirements with your builder or certifier.
