Rim Lock is the oldest type of locking device for a door. Its basic design comprises a surface mounted box containing a deadbolt type of lock and a latch.
Rim Lock Function - is a surface mount lock that installs on the surface of a door and uses a latch that slides into the keeper on the door rim or frame to secure the door.
